OUTFIT: A Tan Coat to die for

It’s no secret that I am one self-conscious person when it comes to photos, but my love of tan coloured clothing does need to be documented. Headshots: I have that thing down. But full-body shots tempt me to curl into a ball and roll away, metaphorically-speaking. I also realised that a 50mm lens for me is just NOT suited for how I want my outfit photos to look. The way I see it, my outfit photos can only get better. If I could just skip to having the quality of Fii’s photos however that would be great.

I am a major fan of tan colours at the moment paired with dusky pinks, I love the contrast. Especially if one item is a tan coat, because I do love a coat. Whilst this photo was taken about a month ago by my lovely friend Ellie, it’s taking me far too long to get this post up.

The coat is from Missguided, which is unfortunately not stocked there anymore. But you can get this similar one.  The cut of the coat is a little tight for a size 14 and may have needed a bit of an iron before I wore it (who uses irons?!), but other than that I can’t complain. It’s made from a heavier wool and matches my tan satchel as well. My tan satchel is from a street vendor in Morocco (sorry guys) so there’s not much I can say about that. It’s lasted me a while, and the amount of stuff I carry in it I kind of feel sorry for it.

The dress is a super cute pinafore style dress, which I paired a cream blouse underneath. Neither will be available as they were in the sale oops. They’re both from Dorothy Perkins… Along with the best boots in the world. I say that, but nothing can beat my Office Heeled Chelsea Boots which I’ve literally had for years. These ones are very similar. The only thing I have to criticise about the boots is that they’re a little strange when walking. The sole of the boot has a chunky grip, whilst the heel is completely flat. This makes for quite a disorientating experience at that height…

Thank you to Dorothy Perkins for gifting me a £100 pound gift card (not for this post, I just won it), as half of your items are currently housed in my closet.

  • I love this preppy look! I’m such a fan of camel coats, and it’s been so long since I visited a Dorothy Perkins – may need to change that soon. Also I seriously need to get on the pinafore trend, this one is lovely 🙂 x

Coat is such a life saver especially in winter time and you can use it as a statement piece of your outifit if you’re wearing a basic outifit. Anyway, I love that coat and its color.
