Every long term blogger will remember the hype train concerning Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua circa 2011. Well I’m bringing it back! For many of us, it was the one Chanel product we actually cared about at the time, and there are a couple of fabulous reasons for that.
Do you remember FleurdeForce’s continuous rave reviews of this foundation? I had my doubts with a £30 foundation, but I took the plunge, took my £20 Debenham’s voucher and got colour matched. (Oh those sixth form days…). Surprise, surprise; I was/am the palest shade! I still love this foundation, it brings a tear to my eye, both in a ‘this was a ridiculously expensive purchase’ way, and a ‘I’m so fancy look at my Chanel’ sort of way.
This is one of my favourite foundations. I do not tend to wear foundation everyday (2/3 times a week), so this has lasted me a while! (Maybe too long, oops…) The shade is very yellow, but this doesn’t bother me too much as A. I have a lot of redness in my skin and B. It’s lightweight. Whilst you could probably build this up to quite a full coverage, I find it works best when you apply a light layer, say, a 5p sized splodge. More heavily applied layers tend to cake up on my skin. It’s also quite a dewy finish and honestly, if I know I’m getting photos taken, I either wear YSL’s Touche Eclat Foundation or this Chanel one.
As you can tell, I do love an expensive foundation. But don’t worry, I’m not one of those super intense beauty bloggers that spend £60 on a foundation (I’m not that dedicated!). Not that there’s anything wrong with that. The packaging is also lightweight, which as I’m getting older and moving around more, now I know why people are bothered with bulky packaging!
Thank you for reading! Have you ever tried this foundation?
