Floral Yet Subtle Perfume, Prada Candy Florale Review

After not purchasing a new perfume in 2 years, I thought it was mighty time to get a new one in time for Christmas. I also wanted to treat myself so that as well.

I’ve always been intrigued by Prada Candy. It comes packaged so beautifully and who doesn’t want to own a tiny bit of Prada in their lives, even if it is just the perfume.

I purchased Prada Candy Florale, as I found the original Prada Candy scent a little heavy personally for me.  It is an Eau De Parfum so naturally it is heavier, and whilst they generally last longer, it is quite an intense scent. Florale is a little bit lighter, as it’s an Eau De Toilette. It’s also naturally, more floral-scented, whilst still maintaining the woody undertones that the original Candy has.

The notes of Prada Candy Florale are as follows:

Top notes – Limoncello

Heart notes – Peony

Base notes – Musks, Benzoin, Caramel

What I really like about this perfume is that it isn’t too sweet.

It’s quite delicate and naturally sweet and floral, but it isn’t overbearing. The notes of this perfume are too subtle and it still maintains a muskiness that the original Prada Candy has. It’s very versatile and perfect as a gift, because it isn’t too ‘in your face’.

My main issue with it is that it doesn’t last long. I find I have to spray it again after a few hours, which is annoying if you don’t have easy access to it. It’s one I will probably put into a smaller spray bottle and take to work. But to be honest, I don’t really expect Eau De Toilette’s to last all day. This would probably be a pain if you were on your feet all day and not in an office like I am.

All in all though, I’m really happy with this for myself! It’s perfect, not to the sweet levels of Juicy Couture, but also not really musky.

What do you think of Prada Candy? Any other perfume recommendations?

  • I really do love a great perfume (and body mists too). I haven’t tried this one but it does sound really nice. I generally head towards sweeter perfumes as they work well with my skin chemistry, but I don’t like anything sickly sweet. Marc Jacobs Daisy is lovely (the blue bottle with white daisies, and the one with blue daisies too!) but I actually get the most compliments when I wear Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck Enchanted!

  • I have Prada Candy Gloss and have similar opinion to yours. However I think it does last on me for longer so I am quite happy with it.
