I am starting a new series concerning some of my favourite haunts in Manchester. Because London gets enough attention already, okay? Manchester is my favourite city. The people are fab, Pride takes over the city every year, and there are always new things to do. There are a lot of gems in the city, that not a lot of people know about, and this series is dedicated to those clueless!
Chapter One books is based in Manchester’s creative hub, the Northern quarter. Filled with creatives, web developers, artists and everything in between, it’s quite an exciting place to be! I have worked in this area and it’s a lot of fun, as you have so much choice for food, events etc. Chapter One books is a bookstore, complete with cafe for cake lovers based on Lever Street in Manchester’s Norther Quarter.
Chapter One Books independent book shop based in Manchester that opened this year. It’s honestly divine. (and I don’t use that word lightly). Books range from contemporary to classics, and are set up in a gorgeous way. Many editions, such as aboves’ classics, I have never seen before, and they’re presented beautifully! You can browse books at your pleasure, throughout the store, buy one, then sit down for a cuppa with a delectable cake.
There is a typewriter section as well, as you can see above, where you can have a go at typing on one! It’s such a quirky decorative idea.
Chapter One Books are open 8am-7pm, Monday-Saturday, Lever Street. It’s not a far walk from Manchester Piccadilly. Their Twitter can also be found here. Also I highly recommend the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, fyi.
