January rolls around finally, after what has felt like the longest Christmas period ever. As I have recently started freelancing for myself (currently looking for full-time work), I’m not too busy, so this is the best time to start blogging a lot. Here is my current favourite make-up look at the moment and I’m aiming to do a ‘makeup diaries’ here on the blog every month!
This photo took a considerable amount of brightening, I’ll tell you that. January is the worst month for weather in Britain – along with all the flooding, which is just everywhere, it’s been a very windy and cold month so far. Britain’s beginning to feel more and more like the setting of Twilight 24/7.
Let’s actually get to the post now.
I recently left my make-up bag at my partners who lives on the opposite side of the country. It was heartbreaking. I tried going without makeup really for a couple of weeks, but couldn’t take it so I compulsively bought this palette. I really love the shades. They’re very warm toned, but the shades do ‘smash’ quite easily… If you’re looking for something new to try, this may be up your street.
Last time I bought this, I bought it in the wrong shade. The formula is very similar to Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua, and in honesty, there’s barely much difference. It’s quite a medium coverage with a full pump, but it stays on all day. Neither matte nor dewy, it goes for a ‘skin’ like finish…
A cute shade, but in my mind nothing special. I’m not particularly a fan of blush, but this is one I can wear without looking ridiculous. Rosy cheeks and freckles are not a great combination for blushers…
I’ve been really enjoying this palette recently. Above I didn’t do my eyebrows too well, but it’s quite a nice one for beginners. It comes with a gel and a highlighter shade, as well as the brow colour itself. I don’t tend to get too excited about brow products if I’m honest.
I have recently discovered this eyeliner, which was initially recommended to me by Kayla last minute. It’s been such a good choice! I accidentally picked this up in brown, but now I actually really like it! It’s gorgeous with the palette above as well!
Probably my “go-to” mascara of the whole year… There’s little to say, but it’s one of the few mascara’s I’ve rebought a few times for my makeup bag. It adds a decent amount of volume, but also some curve. It isn’t too crazy e.g. you don’t look like you have falsies on. But it is quite nice.
Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if any of you would like more similar posts!
