It’s only the best day of the year, it’s Galentines. I may not be single, but I do know that there will be someone reading this post that is. I may be spending Valentines Day with my boyfriend – But honestly, I’m not really sure as I may be starting a job soon (*fingers crossed* this second interview goes well). Regardles, we don’t like making a fuss and I’m here to tell you why that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Coined by Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation, it’s a must for all the single ladies and heck ladies that aren’t seeing their significant other this year. Whether it’s a trip to the cinema with your girls or a binge fest at TGI Fridays, celebrating Galentines should be appreciated. I personally am not all that into Valentines Day, it’s just a personal preference, but I am into cheering up your girls that are saddened by being single on this holiday. At the end of the day, make Valentines your own.
If you ask me, you probably don’t want to be struck by Cupid’s bow because that God was one manipulative bitch in Ancient History. Galentines is by ladies for ladies – You don’t have to do much, but celebrating the women in your life (rather than your spouse/partner/boyfriend) is important. People forget that and it’s really sad.
I seriously don’t know how my everyday life would be without my hometown gals. They can pick me up instantly and both of them are practically glued to their phone, so that helps. We pick each other up in hard times and it’s so needed when you’re a girl in your twenties fumbling around and you have no idea where your life is going to take you next.
When you hit your twenties, your parents become your best friends. I appreciate them so much, for driving down to Bangor and picking me up as I sobbed about various things that had happened to me. If you’re lucky enough to have a mum that is there always. Give her some love this Galentines.
When you think about it, anniversaries, weddings, and Valentines Day are all centered around your other half and don’t get me started how commercial Valentines Day is the most cis, heterosexual exclusive celebration in the world.
Anddddd, I’m going to share the love with some fellow bloggers now:
