‘Budget Beauty’ is a phrase that has been overused more than a bag for life. It is constantly thrown around in the beauty community on the blogosphere and it’s entirely understandable why, as not everybody can simply afford to buy a £50 foundation. Lipstick is probably my favourite make-up item ever. I own far too many, and the collection has unsurprisingly reached 40+ and if I do say so myself, I quite admire it. Without further ado, these are my favourite summer lipsticks!
Two of these are technically not lipsticks, but rather lip balms which have become quite a staple part of most make-up brands nowadays. Revlon Colourburst balm (on the far right) is quite a daring shade and veers more on the electric purple side of lipsticks. I feel it looks gorgeous on pale skin, if I do say so myself, and it’s a wonderful one for if you want somebody to say ‘I love your lipstick’, as it’s a little bit different.
The Bourjois Balm, which I unfortunately do not know the ‘official’ name of, has been the elderly resident of my handbag, seen by how the name of the balm itself has completely rubbed off. It’s a glossy ‘watermelon’ shade, that slightly pink-coral shade. Because of it’s glossy nature, it doesn’t exactly stay on for long, but the balm format means I don’t (personally) have to look in a mirror to apply as I can literally apply on-the-go.
Another Bourjois product comes in their recent formulation defined as the ‘aqua laquer’, being an avid fan of the original lacquer line, it’s hardly no surprise that I loved this one as well. Very glossy, but a gorgeous shade which is a tiny bit reminiscent of MAC’s Viva Glam Cyndi (remember those days?!). It looks quite a bit darker in the picture than it actually is, so don’t be fooled as it is quite a light red shade.
What are you summer lippie favourites? Do you wear lipstick in the summer?
